2-Day Kakheti Wine & Culture Tour is a carefully designed journey through eastern Georgia, exploring the country’s most celebrated wine region - Kakheti. During this tour, you will discover some of the region’s most important cultural landmarks, including the historic Alaverdi Cathedral, the impressive Gremi royal citadel, and the charming hilltop town of Sighnaghi, often referred to as the “City of Love,” offering panoramic views of the Alazani Valley.
Kakheti is widely recognized as the heart of Georgian winemaking, where an 8,000-year-old tradition continues to thrive. You will have the opportunity to visit local wineries, learn about traditional qvevri wine production, and taste a variety of authentic Georgian wines. The experience is complemented by delicious regional cuisine, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the flavors and culture of Kakheti.
This 2-day tour is ideal for travelers seeking a balanced combination of cultural heritage, scenic beauty, and wine experiences in one of Georgia’s most iconic regions.
In the morning, you will travel towards the David Gareji Monastery, one of the most remarkable historical and religious sites in eastern Georgia. Founded in the 6th century by one of the thirteen Assyrian monks, this unique cave monastery complex is set in a semi-desert landscape along the Georgian-Azerbaijani border. You will explore the Lavra cave monastery, the spiritual center of the complex, as well as the Udabno monastery.
Afterward, continue to the peaceful Bodbe Monastery, an important pilgrimage site where Saint Nino, the enlightener of Georgia, is buried.
The journey continues to the charming hilltop town of Sighnaghi, known as the “City of Love.” Here, you will enjoy panoramic views over the Alazani Valley and the Greater Caucasus Mountains, as well as stroll through its narrow streets and historic architecture.
Later, you will visit a local winery, where you will taste traditional Georgian wines and learn about the region’s ancient winemaking traditions.

In the morning, you will continue the tour towards the elegant Tsinandali Estate, once the residence of the aristocratic poet Alexander Chavchavadze. Here, you will visit the house museum and stroll through the beautifully landscaped botanical garden. You will also enjoy a wine tasting, experiencing the refined traditions of Georgian winemaking.
The journey continues to the historic Gremi royal citadel and church (16th century), a former residence of Kakhetian kings. You will then visit the impressive Alaverdi Cathedral (11th century), one of the most important religious monuments in the region, located in the Alazani Valley.
Afterward, you will explore Telavi, including the palace and museum of King Erekle II.
In the evening, you will return to Tbilisi.
